2019 Air Show FAQs

What can I bring?

Visitors to Keesler Air Force Base are welcome to bring strollers, wagons, small purses and diaper bags, cameras, video cameras, phones, folding chairs, are acceptable. No coolers are permitted. Be aware that all items can be subject to search by gate security. See a full list of allowable and prohibited items here.

 

What is prohibited?

For entrance to Keesler Air Force Base, a weapon of any kind, even a small knife, is not allowed. No glass. No pop up tents or umbrellas. No skateboards, scooters or hoverboards are allowed. No backpacks, large purses/diaper bags, camera bags, are allowed. No drones. No pets are allowed. No alcohol on base is permitted. See the full list of what is allowed on base here.

 

Will there be concessions available?

Yes, more information to follow but there will be food and beverages as well as souvenirs available for purchase.

 

Will there be any vendors at the air show?

Yes, please stay tuned for updates.

 

Will concessions/vendors take credit/debit cards?

 

Will there be an ATM?

Yes, visitors to Keesler will be able to use ATMs around the flightline.

Is the Air Show free?

Yes!

 

Where will parking be located?

Parking details are still being finalized but visitors to Keesler Air Force Base will need to ride a shuttle bus.

 

Will there be handicap parking available?

Yes, handicap parking will be available. Details and locations are still being finalized.

 

What time does it start and end?

The event kicks off at 8 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. The final performance is expected to complete by 5 p.m. each day. Because there may be delays due to weather, mechanical issues or any other unforeseen issues, the performers do not have a specified start time. The end time is an estimate.

 

Should I bring hearing protection?

Glad you asked! Our aircraft can be quite loud. Hearing protection can be a good idea for little ears.

 

Is smoking permitted?

Smoking on the Keesler flightline is not permitted except in the designated smoking areas. These areas will be clearly marked for our guests.

Will there be other attractions besides just the air show?

We will have a full line up of static displays, performances and interactive exhibits. Please stay tuned!

 

Where can I find the schedule for the air show?

Performers and exhibits are still being finalized. For an updated list of what to expect, please see our Event Schedule section.

 

Will there be any sort of shade?

There will be some shaded areas but a majority of the events and activities will be open air. We recommend visitors wear hats, bring sunscreen and drink water to stay cool. Visitors to the beach are welcome to bring umbrellas and beach equipment.

Will I be able to meet with the various acts of the air show?

The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds will walk along the show line for a meet and greet with Keesler Air Force Base visitors.

 

What happens if it rains?

The show must go on, rain or shine.

 

How do I become a vendor?

For Keesler Air Force Base vendor information, please contact 228-376-8158.

Applications to be a permitted vendor both days in the event area on the beachfront will be limited. No other types of vendors will be allowed.

Vendors will be selected based on the relative best value of their application.  Applications are available at mainstreetbiloxi.com.  Deadline for applications is Jan. 28, 2019 at 5 p.m.  Applications will be reviewed at that time and vendors will be notified if they are selected to participate.
