Maps and Parking

Using the Map and Directions

The legend can be viewed by clicking the arrow button in the top left (next to ‘Air Show Parking’). This will open up a pane on the left with all available parking locations where you can select a desired location. Alternatively, clicking on the color coded (green, red, blue, purple, and yellow) pins on the map will also display parking areas. Directions and parking information can be acquired from the pane that appears.

Thunder Over the Sound parking

Parking on Keesler Air Force Base will ONLY be open to Department of Defense ID card holders and handicap visitors. All other visitors must park off base and use the airshow shuttle buses.

Access to Keesler for DoD ID card holders during the airshow will be through the Meadows Gate and Pass Rd Gate.

The Mississippi Gulf Coast Coliseum charges $5 a vehicle parking fee at its site.

Handicap Parking

Attendees may park at any of the five airshow designated parking locations, however for their convenience, handicap drivers or guest have the option to park on Keesler Air Force Base. Visitors requesting to use handicap parking on Keesler AFB will need to have a valid driver’s license, car insurance and current vehicle registration, as well as an official handicap designator such as a state issued license plate or handicap placard. They may only enter through the Meadows Road Gate.

Wait times and congestion

With more than 100,000 visitors expected at the airshow, it’s important for everyone to come prepared and to please be patient.

Our parking managers are planning for the increased flow of traffic and working hard to ensure a smooth, safe and fun day. Some suggestions to help plan for the day: Pack a cooler with water and snacks to leave in your car for when you return. Expect to wait 30-60 minutes in traffic at peak times.  If you’re planning to visit first thing in the morning, the closest parking area will be Oak Park or Harrison Court. Please note that shuttle buses are running continuously so you will be able to return to your vehicle at any point during the day.

Please pay attention to all airshow signs and directions of event personnel who will help guide visitors to and from the airshow and parking areas.
